deegee at Hannover Messe 2010 - Hall 8 Stand B02

It’s that time of year again when all is in full swing getting ready for the Hannover Messe 2010.  Having had a great response to our 2009 location, you can once again find deegee in Hall 8 Stand B02.

Running from 19th – 23rd April 2010, Hannover Messe has always been a platform for meeting with the deegee distribution partners, both long-standing and new, and for discussing the beacon and sounder range with potential end-users from around the world.  2010 will prove to be no different; meetings have been scheduled with some of our newest clients, one of whom is working on a significant volume project with us on a new signalling concept.

This year the stand will be hosted by deegee’s Managing Director, Jon Whiten, who will be ably assisted by Office Manager Lisa Baum, and Sales Administrator Stacey Porter.  Operations Director, Wendy Whiten, will remain in the UK with the Whiten’s two sons, the younger at just 4 months old.

8 – Series L

December 8th, 2009 by deegee
Respond

deegee Series L beacons

Series L is best known as the housing for the little fire alarm beacon from deegee, with both the xenon and the halogen-lamp rotating mirror versions extremely popular in this application.  The Polycarbonate lens of Series L has optimised external ribbing to maximise available light transfer, enhancing long-range visibility.

The ABS white or black base is moulded with fixing drill-outs on 51mm centres for direct conduit box mounting and with alternative 3 drill-outs on 100mm PCD.  A moulded central 20mm diameter drill-out is located in the base for cable entry.

Standing at only 133mm tall, and with a base diameter of 123mm, Series L is a small beacon with an excellent light-spread, making it a perfect solution for smaller offices, walkways, corridors, classrooms, etc.  The lens allows for 360o all round and 270o all-over viewing, and with a range of voltages of the xenon units, from 12V UC up to 240V DC and 230 V AC, the beacon works in many applications.

Series L is also available as a vehicle beacon fitted with a rubber base, to either fix directly to a vehicle (ideal for motorbikes, forklifts and general vehicles) or with a magnetic insert and a curly extendable cable to plug into a cigarette-lighter fitting for quick and easy removal and security when the vehicle is left unattended.

A stainless steel cage guard, stainless steel and polycarbonate wall-mounting brackets, and a pole mount are all available as optional extras with Series L.

 deegee Series K beacons

Series K has long been the style of the large vehicle beacon from deegee, fitted with a rubber base with permanent fixings to a vehicle roof, or a magnetic insert for easy and quick fit and removal.  Using the same high lens as Series H, but on a shallower base, Series K suits applications where size really does matter, across industrial, vehicle, security and obstruction hazard warning.

Housing internals based on the rotating mirror technology, filament, halogen, compact fluorescent, E27, xenon and LED, Series K is positioned with a package to suit all requirements.  Both the LED and CFT versions comply with ICAO Type A (10cd) Low Intensity Aircraft Obstruction Warning Regulations.

The ABS base unit of Series K incorporates fixing drill-outs on 51mm centres for direct conduit box mounting, with alternative 3 drill-outs on 100mm PCD and a further 3 drill-outs on 130mm PCD.  A central 20mmØ drill-out is moulded into the bottom of the base for cable entry.

Polycarbonate lenses for Series K are available in the standard deegee range of red, amber, green, blue and clear.  Optional fittings include a stainless steel cage guard, and various metal and polycarbonate wall-mounting brackets.

Respond

deegee Series H beacons

Series H has always been known as the “Hi-Top” beacon from deegee.  Standing at 225mm high, and 175mm diameter, it is the tallest beacon in the range.

Made with high grade engineering, UV-stabilised ABS for the base, and polycarbonate for the lens, Series H has a totally smooth exterior for easy wipe-down and clean.  This makes it ideal for use on vehicles, where the Series H dome is fitted to a shallower base, which is then mounted either directly onto  the vehicle roof, or fitted with a magnetic rubber base.

As well as the xenon and rotating mirror technologies, Series H can also be fitted with LED circuits, compact fluorescent and E27 lamp fittings.  Meeting the ICAO approval for Low Intensity Type A (10 candela) aviation obstruction warning beacons, Series H is an extremely popular choice as the aircraft warning beacon for many types of high-rise structure.

Series H has various fixing options, with moulded drill-outs on 51mm centres for direct conduit box mounting and alternative 3 drill-outs on 100mm PCD and a further 3 drill-outs on 130mm PCD.  A central 20mmØ drill-out for cable entry is located in the base.

With a stainless steel guard available, and various options of mounting bracket, Series H is an easy enclosure to work-with, in all sorts of applications.

4 – Series G

December 4th, 2009 by deegee
Respond

deegee Series G beacons

Series G has always been the preferred deegee beacon for marine applications, due to its robust construction and IP68 ingress protection rating.  It can be seen at many of the docks and harbour entrances in the UK, fitted with any of the deegee technologies – xenon, LED, fluorescent or filament, as well as the rotating mirror mechanism in filament, halogen or LED.

However, more recently deegee has being using the Series G enclosure for its ICAO approved Low Intensity Type A (10 candela) and Type B (32 candela) aviation obstruction warning beacons.

With the eight-point tamper resistant dome fixings and O-ring gasket for positive ingress protection, Series G is tough enough to handle the most severe battering of the waves and the rain.  Both the base and lens are manufactured from high grade engineering, UV-stabilised polycarbonate.  Lenses come in the full deegee range of Red, Amber, Green, Blue and Clear.

For cable entry and mounting to either conduit, flat surfaces or onto the optional brackets, there are flat positions in opposing sides (2 off) and the base (1 off) of Series G, for the end-user to drill entries for Conduit/Glands and to allow through-connection.  The side entry thickness is suitable for thread forming.

At time of ordering, an optional stainless steel cage can be bonded to the dome lens.  Two options of mounting bracket are also available for Series G.

Respond

deegee Series E beacons

Series E is, shape-wise, the big brother to the miniature Series D.  The Series E enclosure has been in existence in the deegee range for many years, and it is still one of the most popular housing shapes.

Fixing to walls, poles, conduit or brackets is made easy.  Series E has moulded drill-outs on 51mm centres for direct conduit box mounting, as well as 3 drill-outs on 100mm PCD.  Cable entry is easily made through the central 20mmØ entry in the bottom of the Series E base, or two side flat pads allow for alternative entries.

Series E bases are moulded from high grade engineering black or white ABS, the lenses from polycarbonate, in Red, Amber, Green, Blue or Clear.

Housing the full technical range of LED, xenon and filament interiors, including the world-famous rotating mirror beacon in both a filament and an LED option, Series E also offers one of the most popular aviation obstruction warning products on the market.

Rated at IP65, Series E is ideal indoor or outdoor.  Accessories include wall-mounting brackets in stainless steel and white or black polycarbonate, poles for mounting above control panels, flat roofs, etc, and a stainless steel cage guard.

Success for deegee at SPS/IPC/Drives 2009

November 30th, 2009 by deegee
Respond

With the team and the kit now back in Swadlincote, the resounding feeling is a positive one with regards to the quality of the meetings which took place at SPS Drives 2009.

A number of existing deegee distributors came to the stand to share their marketing plans for 2010, and some good contacts were made into other countries where deegee isn’t currently represented.  With the follow-up made and end-user contacts passed onto distributors, only time will tell, but on the whole the show was considered a great success for the business.

Next confirmed stop on the exhibition circuit Hannover Messe 2010……

High intensity LED beacon for office use

November 30th, 2009 by deegee
Respond

Using the low profile Series R enclosure from the deegee brand, PSR/*/*/LED-FIRE is a high-intensity, low-current L.E.D. warning beacon ideal for use with fire-alarm systems. Using high-intensity L.E.Ds. the beacon can achieve an effective luminous intensity of up to 115 Candela.

With a standard beacon flash rate of 60 flashes per minute, one of two synchronising modes (/SYNC) can be selected at time of installation using a jumper link.

In /SYNC mode 1 the units are connected in a network (output of beacon 1 to input of beacon 2 and so on) and all beacons will synchronise to beacon 1. In /SYNC mode 2 all beacons respond to a 5mS break in the power supply. This makes PSR/*/*/LED-FIRE perfect for use either individually or in a run for instance down a corridor, where synchronisation is essential to reduce stress on individuals during an emergency.

The systems designer can ensure that the unit is operated with maximum energy efficiency by selecting one of four brightness modes most appropriate to the application – 45Cd, 60Cd, 75Cd or 115Cd (default setting) – by way of two on-board jumper links.

The Series R enclosure is perfect for public and office installation.

All lights blazing at SPS Drives 2009

November 24th, 2009 by deegee
Respond

deegee @ SPS Drives 2009

For the first time in 7 years, the deegee brand of beacons and sounders has been taken to SPS Drives at Nuremberg.  With an exhibition stand based on the theme of “Highlighting Industrial Safety”, and further developing the brand identity from the Hannover 2009 show, the deegee range has certainly attracted some positive attention on the first day of the show.

With many more of our worldwide customers attending the European shows, it’s a very effective way for deegee to meet with our core export distributors, as well as showcase the product range to end-users.

Using the show to focus on the industrial sector, including the stacking beacon range, the panel displays, the warehousing and logistics signals, and the sounders, it is apparent that deegee really does have a product offering for every sector.

For an opportunity to get involved with the deegee beacon and sounder range, pop along to Hall 5, Stand 462, and have a chat with Jon and Donna.  Remember though, the show is only open until 5pm on Thursday 26th November 2009.
