deegee expands support team as sales soar

Everyone at deegee is delighted to welcome Jo Lovatt to the team.  Jo started with us a couple of months ago and was really thrown in at the deep-end when the other members of the sales team manned the booth at the Hannover Messe, leaving Jo to “hold the fort”.

Jo’s career started on the hot chicken counter at Morrisons, but she then progressed into an accountancy office before joining deegee, working on an AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) home learning course since last year.  Whilst Jo will start to take a key role in the buying-function, the best way of learning any business is by familiarisation with the products it sells.  For this reason Jo has already taken much of the responsibility for following-up quotes and enquiries, so that our response time to you continues to get even shorter.

Jo is a Staffordshire girl, the youngest of 4 children.  She is learning to play acoustic guitar and loves music but is really a rock-chick at heart.

Having settled really well into deegee,  Jo says, “The things I like most about working at DG are being part of the team and getting to know everyone.  I also love learning all about the products and speaking to the customers. I think my biggest challenges are getting to know all the ins and outs of the job.”

XFD/UC/24/SH/2.5J/Colour

In response to enquiries from some of our key customers, deegee has modified the XFD product to accommodate a Universal Current.  This opens up new possibilities with this little xenon beacon.

Specified at 24V AC and DC, the unit is otherwise the same, housed in the little D housing, with its 102 mm height and 79 mm base diameter.  With an easy to wire terminal block, and entry to the ABS base via a 10mm cable entry hole, the XFD is very easy to install and maintain.  Offering 360 degree all-round and 270 degree all-over visibility, the XFD packs a lot of punch when it comes to flash intensity per unit size.

Low voltage mains is a popular choice for air-conditioners, heating and cooling systems, and so to have a warning or status signal which works on this same voltage makes for a much easier installation.  One of the specialities of D. G. Controls is its ability to adapt and develop product to more particularly suit customer needs.  This is all possible because of our in-house development department and manufacturing facility.

Changing Gear For Growth

The deegee team have always been keen to undertake training and new experiences, and Office Manager Lisa Baum leads by example.

A 2 day Change Management course set in a beautiful location in Middle Aston, Oxfordshire took Lisa and 8 other delegates from various backgrounds through a detailed explanation of the change process within an organisation, and the best way to manage these changes.

“Practical outdoor tasks which involved planning, strategic thinking, and crucially communication were great fun and a very useful learning tool.  We had no option but to get stuck in, as you can see from the glamorous head-gear!!   I feel the overall experience has been very beneficial to me,” said Lisa.  “By making me aware of the importance of thorough planning, in addition to maintaining good channels of communication throughout, and taking these into account, future changes will be smoother and more structured transitions.”

Closing with an open forum session which allowed all delegates to discuss issues or incidents that they have experienced within their organisation during the change process, the course remained thoroughly relevant to the real-life situations of the attendees.

“Highlighting Industrial Safety” at SPS Drives 2010

After a highly successful re-introduction to the SPS Drives show in 2009, and with the new German deegee distributor Riese Electronic doing a great job in raising the awareness of the deegee brand in the German market, the only response was to “take our stand” again at SPS/IPC Drives in Nuremberg.

Just a 3-day show, running between 23rd and 25th November 2010,  SPS Drives is an excellent showcase for all things industrial.  Focussing on the stacking beacons, warehousing warning systems, the sounder beacon range, and the new Series-C family of beacons, a wide-range of warning solutions were demonstrated on the deegee stand.

“With a high standard of visitors, and excellent support from Riese, SPS Drives in 2010 could be considered a great success,” said Jon Whiten, Managing Director of D. G. Controls Ltd.  Plans are already in-hand to attend the show again in November 2011.

In addition deegee will be exhibiting at the Hannover Messe 4th to 8th April 2011, at the new signalling location of Hall 17, stand location A08.
